H-m-m-m...... maybe we can "interest" a pair of well known infamous "developers" to occupy this site...... in perpetuity.....ha, ha, ha...... or, perhaps, a pair of corrupt politicians.
The problem is..... with such a plethora of pols to choose from..... it would be difficult to single out the most deserving pair .
Did I hear someone out there in cyber-land name "Pinky" Gallagher ?
Oh....now I've done it..... the "renowned" council member is going to put the cops on me for my jesting!
St Micheals? I remember back in the 80s when they pulled up acres of tombstones and threw them into dumpsters.
Then brought in 6 feet of new earth and put it on top.
Families were outraged, but in classic Queens fashion, the owners somehow found apologists for their actions and set the group fighting among itself sooooo ....
nothing got done and the anger dissapated. When the crisis passed, the apologiests were then ignored. Divide and conquer.
As to the stones?
Hey they went to So-crates. Seems as Silvercup's Suna (who runs the place) has a little explaining to do. Went there one day and turned one over. Most of the text was jackhammered off but the word 'Daddy' was still ledgable.
Oh yes, have pictures, from the tombstone laden dumpster, to poor sweet 'Daddy.'
Welcome to Queens, where even the dead are disposable if they don't fill an agenda.

Why your neighborhood is full of Queens Crap
"The difference between dishonest and honest graft: for dishonest graft one worked solely for one's own interests, while for honest graft one pursued the interests of one's party, one's state, and one's personal interests all together." - George Washington Plunkitt
The above organizations are recognized by Queens Crap as being beneficial to the city as a whole, by fighting to preserve the history and character of our neighborhoods. It appears as though the owner
wouldn't even be caught dead in Queens.
I'd have to agree with him considering
how its being ugly-fied by Bloomberg & Co.
I remember!
I was there with a newspaper editor
and pointed out tombstones from
the 1860s to him.
He did an expose feature story on it .....
but it didn't seem to help.
There's a Capone mausoleum at St. Michaels.
Big Al's family....maybe?
Alphonse began his career as a bouncer
in Coney Island.
