From NY1:
In her state of the borough address, Queens Borough President Helen Marshall said Queens is growing at a rapid rate.
"Queens is about to see entirely new communities on its landscape," she said.
"I think change is a good thing, especially with some of the things she showed with the parks," said one Queens resident.

"There was a lot of innovation, and yet she constantly talked about continuing the continuity of the borough, so I wasn't frightened by it," said another. "Like it's been in Brooklyn and Manhattan, where people are being displaced and there is no consideration for them."
"All the retail that I hear about, all the plans, it's going to be like another Manhattan," said a third resident. "Eventually we will lose our little communities that we have."

auuuhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!
auuuhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!
Where to they FIND these people?
Is there an agency (perhaps run by a union) that 'rents' them out for these occasions, or, with no time on their hands and no thoughts in their heads, they, zombi-like, have nothing better to do than attend Queens political events?
A ready pool of clubhouse groupies ready to comment to reporters looking for the 'right response?'
THEY DO NOT REPRESENT QUEENS OPINION.
You dont represent Queens opinion either. Trust me.
Actually, if you live in Queens and aren't tweeded, you do represent Queens opinion.
The Marshal credo summed up simply
(as with all borough presidents before her) :
"Yes sir Mr. Developer.....
whatever you say" !
And what about the people of Queens?
Well.....their opinion doesn't mean squat
because it doesn't put $$$$$$ in her pocket !
And don't be fooled by her
"I'm-just-one-of-you-folks" smile.
She's a house servant
for the real estate/building industry!
This woman just breezily goes along and reads whatever they put in front of her confident that any oppostion will be marginalized.
Boy are they in for a surprise.

Really?
Does Edith Bunker really really represent Queens? Maybe in TV land.
We all know the average age of a dingbat that talks like that is somewhere north of 70.
Time is on our side.
Using the word 'innovation' around the party hacks?
hahahahahahahahaha
hehehehehehehehehe
hohohohohohohohoho
Maybe clever in a devious way, but I would never never never use the word 'innovation' anywhere near boro hall.
I have no trust in you, Marshall. You only go where the big $$$ is & have no respect for our landmarks and the sentiments of the people ("the little people") who make Queens what it is. Shame on you!
Is Helen talking about somewhere in Putnum County?
Jesus Christ! What a miserable place Queens has turned into.
Borough Hall = Hack Central
...dumber than we thought.
Marshall's stupidity is only an act.
Her nest is well feathered with developers' $$$$$$ !
It is apparent that the shape, size and structure of our Queens communities and our future is being determined by the robber barons, corrupt politicos and communists in Manhattan while we all stand by and watch it happen. Are we that powerless. Are we that spineless. Staten Island once threatened succession, why can't Queens. We don't need Manhattan nor the Mayor and his blasphemous decisions that destroy our neighborhoods. Many Americans beleived that the Philippines would fail after the loss of the Air Base at Subic Bay and they didn't. Why can't Queens stand alone as another county of New York State. We've got 2 airports, 2 stadiums, beaches, industries,a large working class population and access to Long Island. What do ya say!
