College Point corner crap

At 23rd Ave and College Point Blvd. is this driveway which only the really brave or really stupid would park on. Apparently this meets DOB standards.
Let's pull back a bit and see what the house attached to it looks like. Blech!
Now let's see the rest of the street. Egads!
And the rest of the block. Holy moley, it's a crap invasion!

The construction of this crap caused traffic nightmares on College Point Boulvard. It is almost impossible to get into College Point nowadays. I'm trying to convince my friends to sell and get the hell out of there.

College Point's north side is not dumpy at all and will hopefully stay that way thanks to the new zoning law that doesn't allow for anything more than two family homes in most most areas.

Cars parked on sidewalks are to be ticketed.

And isn't there something in the Zoning Resolution that mandates front yards and the length of driveways???!!!

Even as the situation in Queens gets me down, this blog always cheers me up :)

I live here. This is Avella Country, but he does nothing about it because he's fighting battles for people who didn't vote for him all over the City. Pathetic

What exactly could he do about it besides get your zoning changed, which happened in 2005?

Rezoning did nothing to stop these ski run drive ways. Avella should stop trolling here and do more for his community. Oh I forgot, stopping the horsey rides in Manhattan is more important.

The Department of City Planning introduced new zoning regulations last year that outlawed these driveways. The proposal is moving through the ULURp process.

And what kind of steep price
did this idiot pay for the steep grade?

Wait until the next big rainstorm.

Time to fill the basement swimming pool again!

LMAO my boyfriend lives a few blocks away from that driveway. I can't wait for the day they try to back out and go right through the garage door.

If you want to see some REAL abuse of the building codes, come and visit the MONSTROSITIES that they are building on 116 Street (12-05).
Put a picture of these on your blog if you want to see what real crap is.

For shame. And to think that I live only blocks away, on 22nd Avenue. Garbage Point is such an embarrassment. No wonder it's the way it is.

College Point: Birthplace of Small-Town Mentality!
