Share your personal goals, dreams and wishes and they'll be added to the confetti that will flutter down onto the streets of Times Square on New Year’s Eve.
I agree with the first poster in full. An addition to my list is that Mayor Doomberg step down before his term is up so that all of NYC may benefit.....not just the rich!
Health & Happiness to all. May term limits be enforced and all the "crap" forced out. I wish the people of the boroughs a long memory and to REMEMBER on election day what your officials have done for you and your community. Vote out all the crap and lets get people in office who do for their constituents and not for themselves.
I second Pinky's jail term and lack of parole. Just because he's councilmember doesn't mean he should get away with his wrongdoings.
I also wish for St. Saviour's to be preserved and transformed into a much-needed park for all to cherish in years to come.
Third, I wish the Landmarks Preservation Commission would pay close attention to Queens, as per the City Council Landmarks Oversight hearing in Apr 2006. The increaed funding shouldn't be allocated only for Manhattan sites or new public relations employees, but evenly distributed amongst the boroughs. Prioritize on Queens, Bronx, & SI, since those have been long neglected.
I wish for all the developers discover Iraq and rebuild there. Take all the crappy houses that they build out of Queens & Brooklyn and build them in Iraq. Once the Iraqi people see how ugly they are, they will behead all the developers. Problem solved for all! HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I came across Presidential candidate Ron Paul views on immigration of which seem common-sense like. This is not an endorsement of Ron Paul however, I just believe his stand on this issue is what I make a wish for.
Physically secure our borders and coastlines. We must do whatever it takes to control entry into our country before we undertake complicated immigration reform proposals. Enforce visa rules. Immigration officials must track visa holders and deport anyone who overstays their visa or otherwise violates U.S. law. This is especially important when we recall that a number of 9/11 terrorists had expired visas. No amnesty. Estimates suggest that 10 to 20 million people are in our country illegally. That’s a lot of people to reward for breaking our laws. No welfare for illegal aliens. Americans have welcomed immigrants who seek opportunity, work hard, and play by the rules. But taxpayers should not pay for illegal immigrants who use hospitals, clinics, schools, roads, and social services. End birthright citizenship. As long as illegal immigrants know their children born here will be citizens, the incentive to enter the U.S. illegally will remain strong. Pass true immigration reform. The current system is incoherent and unfair. But current reform proposals would allow up to 60 million more immigrants into our country, according to the Heritage Foundation. This is insanity. Legal immigrants from all countries should face the same rules and waiting periods.

I wish for St. Saviour's to be saved, the Atlantic Yards project to fail and for the church in Woodside to be rebuilt.
May subprime credit crunch subside so that NYC and Wall Street employers do not lay off every middle class job left in those firms.
the Lion King producers might've turned off their stupid sign for the occasion.

May Queens Crap continue for another year.
May the District 30 Council seat become vacant well before 2009.
people here are good hearted, wishing for things for others. :)
Pinky sentenced to spend a full term in prison....
with no possibility of a parole!

The Willets Point business owners will get to keep their land.
May Elmhurst (South) get it's act together to rezone. If not, may the DOB enforement do it's job properly and honestly here.
