Crap hill

Between the Grand Avenue and the Woodhaven Blvd exits, the LIE passes by a high bluff. I shall deem it Crap Hill.

Its on the border of Middle Village and Elmhurst. Picturesque views of Manhattan mean only one thing - one-story houses being replaced by Fedders Specials with rusting balconies and odd angles! Enjoy!

Welcome back, Mazeartist. Thank you for your contribution although "enjoy" is not the word I would choose.

That looks like a Fabian project.

Is this the builder's conception
for a Queens' version of the Flat Iron Building?

Wait until they start hanging laundry from the railings !

Balloon ass "bloomers" billowing in the wind!

Sexy!

This area should have remained South Elmhurst. It is not, and should have never been, deemed Middle Village.

That's the area of the Mount Olive cemetery and Calvary Hill

You're really aware how big a hill when bicycling along Queens Boulevard from Jackson Heights to Rego Park

No this is not by Mount Olivet Cemetery. It's by 83rd Street.

I agree with the poster that this area should have remained South Elmhurst. Only the residents in that area were surveyed for the zip code change. If they would have surveyed all of Middle Village the outcome would have been different.

What's the problem with the zip code change?

The LIE cuts the neighborhood off from Elmhurst. The area has more in common with Middle Village than with Elmhurst.

I don't think South Elmhurst (now being called Middle Village) has anything in common with Middle Village. I think it has more in common with Maspeth. The north side of Eliot (west from 74th) is Maspeth. It made no sense to cut 74th Street in half and make the west side Maspeth and the east Middle Village.

Stick to the message - the buildings are crap where ever they are located. Why must all these crap buildings have crappy balconies? People hang laundry, fish to cure and store garbage on them. They are an eyesore and should be banned outright, unless they are of an impossible square footage.

A lot of people in (original) Middle Village were really peeved when they changed the zip code in that area to make it part of Middle Village.

Why would they be upset about it?
