A treasure trove found!
"That's some stately home" (a developer salivates)......"I could cram at least 50 Mexicans in there" !"Nah.....I don't need to worry about the creation of an historic district here.....the Vallones and CB#1 are on my side"!
AND they don't make stone walls like that anymore!
"AND they don't make stone walls like that anymore!"--Now they just make them walls out of plywood :-(
The big mouths in Astoria are a classic group apart from anything else you will likely meet in NYC:http://www.astorians.com/community/index.php?topic=8856.0http://www.astorians.com/community/index.php?topic=8644.30These boys know how to dodge an issue like a politician (hmmm!)
No, every neighborhood you find hot-head todies for the developers. In Astoria, the general apathy of the public seems to be a problem.Coupled with the overdevelopment those yos want, it doesn not auger well for that community's future. Its a poor investment for anyone's money.
It's amazing that theses gracious buildings still exist in ASS-toria....which is quickly becoming the rectum of Queens!
