HAHAHA! I broke into the house that was on that corner when it was abandoned. It was a row house just like all the others on that particular street. The high rises on colden st. in the background have been there much much longer.
I believe the high-rises have been there since the late 60s. The rowhouses of the one-block Byrd Street are an example of a Flushing that is quickly disappearing.
