After decades of discussion and planning, it seems that big developments may finally be coming to Hunter’s Point. Billed as an extension of the Queens West project, the Empire State Development Corp presented their most up to date proposal for a radically rezoned and redeveloped Hunter’s Point at a Community Board 2 meeting last week. The latest plans call for a top-to-bottom overhaul of the entire peninsula, including new streets and street extensions, parks, residential and commercial space, and a new school.New Plans For Hunter’s Point

What does this mean in plain English? Waterfront access like Shore Towers?

What's it going to be a 20 feet wide strip
between the river and the stockade wall that will surround the new developments ?

Looks like some of the waterfront will have access but the big stretch in the middle is "open space within project B"
Hunters Point South
It looks to me like the big spot in the middle by the vent shaft building is a "green roof." The "open space within site B" looks like space around the buildings in the triangle at the south-east portion, off the river and by the creek. It looks like all of the land on the west by the riverfront will be public park space.
No, the space in the middle where the little peninsula is, is marked as "open space" but not parkland.
Looks like the kiddies will be able to play soccer and baseball, just not at the same time. Excellent planning!
No, you are not reading it correctly. The color scheme can be confusing. Look at the full presentation on the site, dated September 10, 2007. Page 10 shows the public parkland. The entire parcel is split into two sites. Site B is the south-east portion, not directly on the river.
Perhaps I have "site B" incorrect, but that color is not the color presented as that of parkland.
What a wonderful classy sign for the Queens Ledge. A perfect image for a business owned by that bozo pseudo businessman, Walter Sanchez.
