Moondance says farewell to Manhattan

The Moondance Diner won't be demolished. But it won't be staying in NYC any longer, either. It's heading to Pennsylvania:

Sorry.....I still don't get all the "hoop-la" about this rather mundane diner. There are far better examples still around in NYC.

For instance....the "Empire Diner "(Manhattan), the "Airline Diner" (Queens) etc.

It's not exactly going to leave an architectural void in NYC when it's finally moved .

Let's stop exhausting ourselves wasting valuable time and resources on minor pet preservation projects while the gaping maw of over-development is wide open and waiting to devour more of our worthy historic sites !

Correction:

This is not the last free standing diner in Manhattan.

I believe that the Empire Diner in Chelsea still stands (but who knows for how long?) .
