The Politicker made mention of the scandal as did 1010 WINS and CBS news.

Gallagher met the woman at Danny Boy's, a bar where he's a regular, on Dry Harbor Road near both his district office on Metropolitan Avenue and his family's home, according to several sources. The sources said the two had apparently noticed each other on earlier visits to the bar.
Gallagher and the woman - described as in her 40s - spent time together at the bar, and then the lawmaker brought her back to his office, the sources said.
The legislator has a separate, smaller office above his storefront district headquarters, which is where they went, several sources said.
Neighbors at his well-groomed home said the councilman and his wife often fight loudly enough for people outside to hear.
"They're always screaming at one another," said one neighbor, who said she'd heard Mrs. Gallagher tell her husband that he was a "lying, cheating piece of s- - - and she wants him out of the house."
The neighbor also said she once saw Gallagher sleeping in his car in the alleyway behind his house.

I know most people dismiss the fact that some politicians cheat on their spouses and families, but even if it comes out that this is all he has done then doesn't that alone say volumes about his character, or more appropriately, lack of character.
How can the people he represents ever trust a word he speaks when he obviously cannot keep his word to his own family. A complete lack of respect - just imagine what he would do to someone he has no feelings towards.
Let the "spin" begin. Can't wait to see how Pinky tries to get out of this one.
IMO - Just being a "regular" at a bar isn't very becoming of council member, plus nothing ever good comes from just hanging out and drinking.
He should have thought twice before he started hanging out at bars and drinking - it just lead him down a path of destruction.

Even if the criminal allegations against Gallagher are untrue, it doesn't say much for him that he is out hooking up with some woman that he met boozing it up on a Sunday afternoon at some local neighborhood bar. He is supposed to be the person representing us in New York City political matters and should be held to a higher standard than a bar slob.

I would say because he had alot of people duped into believing he cared about the community he represents, when really it doesn't seem like he does.
