Queens Democratic Congressmen Gary Ackerman and Joseph Crowley got top marks from a liberal group for the votes they cast in the U.S. House of Representatives in 2006.
Our pols get liberal organization's vote
Ackerman, whose district runs from Jackson Heights to Douglaston and Little Neck, and Crowley, whose district stretches from College Point to Woodside, failed to vote with the liberal lobbying group on just one of 20 votes the ADA considered the most important of the year.
"I always try to vote my conscience and in keeping with what's best for my constituents, not different interest groups," Crowley said.
Well, Joe, why do you vote this way when Queens voters tend to be more middle-of-the-road as a general rule and your district in particular encompasses such a wide cultural, political and socio-economic spectrum?

hahahahahahahahahahahaha
the very definition of a clubhouse hack.
Can anyoone say, with a straight face, that Ackerman's district is a better place today than it was a few decades ago?
Crowley's votes do actually reflect his district. Jackson Heights, Woodside and the South Bronx are among the most progressive areas in the country.
Oh yes, when I walk around those areas, the word "progressive" comes to mind!
Before passing any judgement on how 'left-handed' these guys are, I want to know exactly what each of these critical votes were - anyone know where this info can be found? Would have been nice if the newpaper had provided a list.
Gary Ackerman......a possible long time friend of the infamous Tommy Huang.......has been too long on the political scene and a major part of all problems within his congressional district!
Hey.....keep voting in this bloated (and maybe crooked) politico and you'll get more of the same from him.....NOTHING!
