$3.9 billion surplus, but no money to fix city hall:

Hirst said a public-private partnership for funding the Council Chamber restoration and rehab work would be ideal. Similar fund-raising helped restore Gracie Mansion and the ceremonial Governors Room in City Hall.

No money should be spent on this sink hole.
Spend money on lie detectors, investigators, and prison space for these offenders.
Who will still want to bribe them once they are sitting in a cell?
They should fix the chamber by dumping the entire membership of the city council.
Ditto, Ignatio!
Katz followed by Gallagher should be the first to go!
Then bring in a pest control service and fumigate for any remaining roaches!
You guys have to be kidding me. I grew up in Queens and just recently learned about this blog. I have yet to see one worthwhile comment on this site. It's one thing to rant about things but PLEASE somebody, anybody pose a possible solution! As somebody who has worked on construction sites for a large part of his life, I'm here to tell you that it's easier to tear a house down than to figure out how to build one.
You obviously haven't been reading very carefully. There have been numerous suggestions for how put a halt to overdevelopment. The sheisters at the council don't listen because their cash registers are overstuffed with developer and construction industry money.
You're in the construction business?
No....you're in the DESTRUCTION business!
I don't care where you grew up.
Use your eyes, maybe your brain, to take in all of the constructive suggestions that have come out of this blog site!
I grew up in Queens, in Flushing, and worked on construction sites all of my life and tearing down buildings is A HELL OF A LOT OF FUN!
If you don't like this site then get the hell off genius.
