Hello fellow preservationists in Brooklyn from your colleagues in Queens.
I await the day when we all can sing under the same banner in a great hall!
That new building looks as if its going to be as intrusively ugly as that glass pyramid in front of the Louvre in Paris!
Curse you city "planners" who are plotting to destroy our city!
This building was designed by "starchitect" Richard Meier, reveiving favorable reviews from the NY Times.
WOW, you must really hate everything. This is a Richard Meier building and it is flawless. It is perfect in scale...the plaza is surronded by 15 story apartment towers. It is 2007 and a glass building is NOT something to be afraid of. Plus it replaced a parking lot! It's a win for the city on every front.
What, specifically, is wrong with this tower?
This is a terrible building and the landmarks commission probably approved it since it's near the arch. Shame on them.
It replaced a parking lot? Well then, there's a major flaw right there. This area is a parking nightmare.
Oh, it got a favorable review from the NY Times? Well then it must be fantastic. The NY Times definitely knows what it's talking about when it comes to development. Just ask their neighbors in Whitestone.
The problem with the Meier building is its dissonance with the arch. If it were elsewhere it might work.
As is, it has much in common with that awful thing they put in front of the Brooklyn Museum, that looks like a bus terminal.
The New York Times is an ass kissing (Dinosaur) that is always behind the times! It's the the developers hymnal!
That's not "star-chitecture" .....it's ""fart-chitecture"!
