Convention of civic groups from around the city gathers to hammer out platform to take back control of local government.
In NYC, what we've got instead of properly planned growth (which is begnine) is voracious and unbridled overdevelopment (which is malignant)! A project like the Atlantic Yards that drives people from their homes and eats away at their neighborhood, ultimately killing it, is indeed a form of urban Cancer. It seems that only Bruce "the rat" Ratner and our Imperial Mayor can retain sole rights to control the destiny of the residents of the area, who are then told politely to go to hell! Oh, and thank you ACORN for the wonderful job you did!

I think some preservationists in Queens and Brooklyn just crossed paths on Queens Crap.
