Since the Crapper is always criticized for not liking any development projects, I thought I'd let you know about the latest one on the horizon that sounds like a good idea to me:

Staten Island: Development Planned for Terminal Area
It would create a museum, stores and housing and restore the waterfront, which now is sitting there simply decaying.

This really does sound like a creative well planned project. We live in hope.
Hey Crappie, don't worry about those criticisms.
Lets hear from the rabid pro-development lobby: real estate companies, newspapers, politicians, and community boards - what do they consider important to enough to save?
And no fellows, the fire houses, swimming pools and cemeteries don't count.
Let's not rush to applause - have you seen the crap that's being built on the SI waterfront that will be surrounding it? This might be a fig leaf to cover up more waterfront uglification.
